In Claude you add Potion yourself, as a custom connector. A free Claude account is enough, and it takes a couple of minutes on claude.ai in a web browser.
In claude.ai, open Settings and choose Connectors.
Press Add, then Add custom connector.
Name it Potion, paste this address and press Continue:
https://api.withpotion.io/mcp
Under Authentication, choose Sign in now. Claude picks No sign-in for you, and Potion won't work that way.
Under OAuth client, choose Register automatically, then press Add.
Press Connect. Potion asks for your email and sends you a 6-digit code. Once you type it in, you're connected, and if you're new to Potion this creates your account.
Adding Potion does not start a conversation. Open a new chat afterwards and paste this:
Set me up with Potion. I want a daily briefing as a podcast. Ask me what it should cover and give me suggestions based on what you know of my interests, then help me get it into my podcast app.
When Claude asks whether it may use Potion, allow it.
Two hours of narration are included to start with, and there is no card to enter for them.
A free Claude account can have one custom connector. If yours already has one, Potion needs that slot.
